TUSAS Is Bringing Three of Its New Helicopters to The Paris Air Show In 2023

The Turkiye aerospace company (TUSAS) brought three of its new helicopter products to the prestigious international aerospace exhibition Paris Air Show 2023 in France.

The first product is the T929 ATAK 2 heavy attack helicopter, which recently successfully made its maiden flight on April 28, 2023.

ATAK 2 is a frontline attack helicopter that is more powerful than the T219 (license based on the Leonardo A129).

The new helicopter weighs 11 tons and can carry a payload of up to 1,500 kilograms.

The helicopter carries a 30-mm-caliber cannon under its chin.

In each small wing, there are three hangers for controlled 70-mm rocket tubes, anti-tank missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

This two-man helicopter has a maximum speed of 318 km/h and a flight altitude of up to 6,000 m.

The second product is a medium-heavy multi-purpose transport helicopter of the 10–11 ton class with the T925 code, presented in 1:1 mockup form.
The T925 uses many components from the T929 ATAK 2, such as the TV3-117VMA turboshaft engine, transmission, and propeller.

As well as using avionics similar to the T625 GOKBEY light medium helicopter.

The T925 model on display at the 2023 Paris Air Show is a civilian variant of the passenger carrier, featuring two rows of left and right seats.

In addition to civilian needs, the T925 is also being developed for military transportation, maritime variants for the Navy, and vehicles for fighting forest fires from the air.

With a large payload, for Turkiye's military needs, the T925 can fill the gap between the Sikorsky S-70 and the CH-47 Chinook.

The third product is an unmanned cargo helicopter, Cargo UAV, with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) of 275 kg that can carry a load of up to 50 kg.

Its small size allows it to be quickly deployed and operated for a variety of roles, including humanitarian missions.

Especially useful in cross-border operations where quick logistics reactions can give an edge in a danger zone,

Apart from logistics, the Cargo UAV's modular design allows it to be equipped with various sensors, such as EO and IR, and even light weapons for armed reconnaissance needs.
